Peter Schmidt director | cinematographer

Peter established Rubicon Films in 1991 following seven successful years directing major Australian campaigns with Great Southern Films both in Melbourne and Sydney. His work for the Victorian Transport Accident Commission won a host of local and international awards including two Cannes Gold Lions.

Peter's improvisational work with actors gained him a reputation for naturalism and authenticity. He directed a long running black and white 'Help' campaign for the NRMA, ground breaking work for the NSW Police Service as well as a seven year run for Nescafe Blend 43. He also worked extensively for Leo Burnett Chicago, Dentsu Tokyo and established the 'TDK Evolve' campaign.

His credits include both international and Australian clients. IBM, Bayer, Heineken, National Australia Bank, TNT Air Couriers, Kraft Foods, KFC, Proctor and Gamble, Uncle Ben's, General Motors and Toyota. His agency credits include BMF, McCanns, Singleton Ogilvy & Mather, The Campaign Palace, Grey Saatchi and Saatchi & Saatchi Singapore.

When he's not directing, Peter is a passionate photographer.
